Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den wagering is banned. Eight gambling dens are established in a relatively small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; although, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and although visas are supposedly needed to pass, there are methods around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel compound that contains a number of luxuries aside from the gambling den, which provides ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 gaming tables.
